European Kanin Hop Championships

The first European Kanin Hop Championships took place over the weekend on October 30, 2011 where 55 rabbits and their owners participated in a hurdle-hopping steeplechase. The event was held in Wollerau, Switzerland where crowds cheered the rabbits onwards as they hopped through the obstacle course. The winning rabbit was owned by Lada Sipova-Krecova of the Czech Republic, who may be seen in the first two photos below. The Norwegian and Danish word for rabbit is 'kanin' and rabbit hopping is a growing sport in Central Europe.
