Cranberry harvest
The fall cranberry harvest started yesterday in Wisconsin where workers at the Elm Lake Cranberry marsh near Wisconsin Rapids and other cranberry marshes across the state started raking. Harvesters use rakes to gather cranberries and bring them to the surface where they're gathered up by a mechanical harvester for processing. Wisconsin is the largest cranberry producer in the world with 160,000 acres of land devoted to the production of the fruit and supplies more than 50% of the world cranberry output.
