Raja Ampat: last paradise on Earth
Raja Ampat is an archipelago made up of over 1,500 islands located off the northern coast of West Papua, New Guinea. The islands are called the 'last paradise on Earth' thanks to the uncorrupted and pure environs which are largely untouched by the polluting hand of modern man. From the ancient rainforests to one of the most bio-diverse underwater coral reef formations in the world which is home to over 1300 marine species. Nearly a decade ago, Raja Ampat was nominated to be the first marine UNESCO World Heritage Site - other sites include the Persepolis in Iran, the Statue of Liberty, and Mount Kenya National Park.
