Pete Fecteau had a dream. No really, he had a dream where he created a portrait of Martin Luther King, Jr using only Rubik's Cubes. To make his dream a reality, Fecteau purchased 4,242 Rubik's Cubes and arranged them in a 18-foot 6-inch by 9-foot 8-inch mosaic which weighed nearly 1,000 pounds upon completion. Says Fecteau of his project, “I woke up from the dream and it was like I was on fire. I spend three hours that morning writing down the concept and brainstorming. When I stepped back I realized how bat-s*** crazy it was but there was something pushing me to make it a reality. Sometimes I don’t think I woke up from that dream. It still seems crazy.”
